In order to be active on your Twitter account you must post regularly. You also should be courteous and reply to relevant “Tweets” when you are mentioned and so forth. However, obviously not everyone has the time to sign on to Twitter once every hour to see what’s new, if they have been mentioned directly – @username- and so forth. Also not everyone knows how to most effectively utilize and navigate through Twitter.
Thanks to the development of countless Twitter apps you can be active on Twitter without going to your computer and logging on dozens of times per day. Listed below are a few free applications to make your Tweeting simpler, quicker, and which simply allow you to “do more”.
Here are some great Twitter apps to simplify your life:
Tweet by Mail: Awesome and easy to use, this twitter application allows you to send Tweets through email.
You simply sign up for an account online, and Tweet By Mail gives you a distinct twitter email.
In order to Tweet, you send an email to this address and write your tweet in the subject line. That’s all.
The bonus of this app is that you can add more than one user to your account, which is great for corporate Twitter accounts with several tweeters.
Twit Pic: This app allows you to post pictures. You can do this online via the actual application/website. Or, like the above mentioned “Tweet By Mail’, you can email your picture to your twitter account.
Again, all you do is sign up for Twit Pic. Upon signing up you are given an account specific email address. Then, you simply attach the photo to an email, write your tweet in the subject line, and send the email to the Twit Pic address associated with your Twitter account.
Twit Pic tells you how many times your picture has been viewed, and allows viewers to comment on your pictures & photos.
Twit Vid: Essentially the exact same thing as Twit Pic, except it’s for uploading and sharing videos on Twitter. It functions the same way, so I won’t repeat instructions again.
Qwitter: This is a great app that allows you to see who stops following you on twitter.
The application emails you daily, and lets you know which followers you’ve lost. The “basic” app is free. However if you upgrade to the “Premium App” for $4.99 you receive emails more frequently, you can see the last Tweet you sent before someone stopped following you, and so forth.
